This is one of the most stunning tree in #TheBigTreeQuest list!! We visited the Champion Tree during October 2024. That was when we were introduced to @kundan_ifs Sir.. it was a meeting where we learnt about #TreeBlindness!! Kundan Kumar Sir, was kind enough to assist us with a team to visit this tree... a 20 Kms round trip trek through Tiger/Bear/Leopard/Elephant Jungle!!!
The first sight of this beauty will remain in our memories forever.. truly Majestic! It was during this visit we were told about the soil erosion and the risk to the tree in the near future... On the way out of the WLS we did appraise Kundan Sir about the soil erosion which he too was aware of.. in the normal world this would have been ignored by anyone but not Kundan Kumar Sir! he promised to work on strengthening the banks and kept his promise!!
Thank you Sir for saving this tree for our future generations!! You will forever be remembered by The Big Tree Quest team!!

Many residents in Mira Bhayandar have gathered today at the Gyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Udyan in Mira Road because the Municipal Corporation wants to remove over 1,200 trees from the garden.
The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation wants to expand a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) by taking over the garden space and relocating trees that are nearly 8 years old.
The park, located on Kanakia Road in Mira Road, is an important open space for the residents.
Such a wrong time of the year.. such a big vacuum in thought process. This has to change. There is a workable situation but not like this.. #Treeblindness HAS to end.
