Two years ago, independent savings group who are not part of the Shack Dwellers Federation approached the OFL to find a way of also supporting them.

Meeting concluded with consensus that #TreeOfTheNation retains its credentials as a apolitical, non-tribal, community- led platform for organized communities living in informal settlements and backyard shacks. FLON joined participants for lunch in Community Development Hall.

FLON agreed with key points raised by communities, incl. reduction of plot sizes. Committed funding to EXCO for training on leadership, governance and bookkeeping and full time resource person. Happy that #TreeOfTheNation is functional and active, committed continued support.
