On her new podcast, @angela_rye, who was ubiquitous on CNN for years as one of their on-air political commentators, says that Chris Cuomo sent her inappropriate text messages that commented on her body…specifically her private parts.
The audio from this portion of the episode is in this tweet.
Angela says that the texts made her feel incredibly uncomfortable, but she was also fearful of rocking the boat and didn’t want to upset someone who had power at CNN.
Her rejection of Cuomo’s inappropriate advances came around the same time that CNN dropped her as a paid commentator.
She understandably gets very emotional in this clip as she recounts how she grappled with whether or not to say something because she felt her situation wasn’t as major as that of women who had faced much worse misconduct.
But it’s clear when listening to this clip that her interactions with Chris Cuomo had a profound effect on her.
She also says that she feels immense sadness because she has always been an outspoken person, it’s what people know her for, but her own fear made it difficult for her to speak up.
