The #USMIDAF project is reshaping Lugazi Municipality with its ambitious road development initiatives seen through the significant transformation in its infrastructure landscape.
The first phase involving the upgrading of Market streets 1, 3, & 4 (0.79km), Kinyoro Road (0.8km), Kulubya Road (0.47km), Nabugabo Road (0.3km), and Nabugabo Close (0.15km) at a cost of sh11 billion, is substantially complete.
Additionally, the second phase has civil works on Ntenga Rd (1.452km), Station Rd (0.937km), Hassan Zirabamuzaale Rd (0.18km), Sempala Rd (0.753km), Gitta Rd (0.9km), Adventist Rd (0.72km), Cathedral 1 Rd (0.131km), Cathedral 2 Rd (0.216km), UMEA Rd (0.313km), Kinyoro 2 Rd (0.386km), Nalule-Miyodi Rd (0.104km), Namengo-Kibuhu Rd (2.373km), Line-Mulefu Rd (1.509km), Church Rd (0.3km), and the Nakazadde drainage channel (1.596km). after completion, the new roads will all be fit with over 250 solar street lights. The construction for this phase spans an impressive 11.87km and has an estimated cost of sh27 billion.

Mr. Tumwesigye Isaiah, the Town Clerk of Gulu City recaps how road infrastructure within Gulu City has been improved under the implementation of the #USMIDAF project. He thankfully notes that the project has made possible the construction and renovation of roads, walkways, and drainage networks. These renovations have reduced flooding within the city and enabled easy accessibility of different facilities within the City Centre. The solar street lights have improved security in the night hour.

Mohamed Warema, a resident of Gulu City commended the #USMIDAF program for the infrastructure development that has beautified the city over the past 3 years.
A native of Mbale, Mr. Warema acclaimed the role of Gulu City as a regional hub for trade connecting South Sudan, DRC, and Eastern Uganda.
Batch 1B of the USMID program covered a total of 7.8km with roads including; Francis Barabanawe Rd, Onono Rd, Pope John Paul Rd, Vincent Opio Rd, Lakana Odongkara Rd, and Nelson Mandela Rd. This project was executed by M/S China Railway 18th Bureau Group CO. Ltd and supervised by M/S. Trio Consultants Ltd JV ICS Engineering & Environment Ltd.
The city also commenced works on batch 2, including the construction of Alur Rd (0.893Km), Okello Okeno Rd (0.844Km), Queen Elizabeth Rd (0.722Km), Eden Rd (1.429Km), Samuel Does Rd (0.946Km) totaling to 4.834Km. These projects were contracted to M/S China Railway Seventh Group Co. Ltd (CRSG) and supervised by M/S Segamu 14 Consultants Ltd in association with Hersun Consults Ltd.

Yumbe District LCV Chairperson - Abdulmutwalib Asiku expresses his gratitude for his District being considered among the district local governments to implement the #USMIDAF program. Yumbe is among the refugee hosting districts in Uganda, and as such initiatives are being undertaken to deliver critical infrastructure and strengthen its abilities to cope with the recent and future #refugee influx.
Currently, Yumbe district is home to 218,206 refugees and it has commenced implementation of works in 17 projects, with 5 markets, 6 resource centres, and 4 play fields.
The district has also commenced on road works of:
(I) construction of Nyara II Bridge on Andelizu-Uriama and road works on Andelizu-Uriama Road
(ii) construction of low-cost seal on Amabua road in Leju Town Council

Hon Obiga Kania, the Minister of state for Urban Development, and direct political supervisor of the #USMID project, has led a technical team from the @ministry_lands to Entebbe municipality to commission different projects under the #USMIDAF Program Batch 2.

Civil works in Busia Municipality were contracted to M/s Dott Services Limited and are expected to be completed by August 2023.

Ekaka road in Busia is a 0.74km unpaved road with potholes, heavily silted culverts and drains. Under the #USMIDAF program, the road is undergoing an upgrade. Several other projects are being funded in the Municipality and these include;

The roads are installed with solar streetlights; improving security and encouraging night economy.

With #Agriculture and #trade as the main economic activities in Apac district, #USMIDAF moved to establish a reliable road network to facilitate these activities in Apac Municipality.

Once completed, the market benefit locals and refugees in Moyo district and enable the local District Council to collect revenue to improve service delivery. #USMIDAF #development
Construction of Moyo town main market in @MoyoDistrict has already commenced and is set to be complete within 6 months. It includes two blocks of storied market lock-up stalls and one block of non-storied lock stall. #USMIDAF #development
