Today I’m sharing my update for #UWMidrange. It excels vs matchups that are more difficult for #UWControl, such as Hogvine, Humans, & Burn. It’s also an archetype I think more players should be familiar with. I have a primer for it, too, that will be updated & shared today. #MTG

#UWMidrange players asking for updates post-#MTGMH1, here’s my advice:
Since #MTGWar, if you’re not doing something remotely proactive or ‘unfair’, which we’ve seen from the evolution of #UWControl & Jeskai Saheeli, you’re at a significant disadvantage. Start with T3feri.

It’s time to adapt & take advantage of T3feri + Queller. Not only is this superior to anything else the deck was previously doing, but it’s also better vs Control. Queller hits T3feri, Narset, & Veto.
Btw, this isn’t a deck for Narset. Consider GotT. #MTG
I like this a lot for #UWMidrange as we shouldn’t have any issues with a 3/3 Elephant because of Omens, Finks, & Resto.
I’ll gladly trade a Walker for it, especially VS Control.
Tron is also one of the more difficult matchups G1 & this blows up Tron lands, too.

#UWMidrange placed 10th in the Modern Challenge on 5/13, but it didn’t play any new cards.
That said, I think Dovin’s Veto & Teferi, TR are the most significant additions to the archetype, with Ashiok being a solid SB option. Narset is OK. Queller gains equity with Teferi. #MTG

This is the first 5-0 for Teferi, TR + Queller, but UW Midrange is also one of the best shells for the new Teferi.
Although Instant speed Serum Visions is sweet, Opt works well here.

Its static ability is going to be exceptional with Queller. If you manage to Resto your Queller with a Teferi on the field, you’ll be able to permanently exile multiple spells.
