Something has been on my mind and heart to say, and I don’t think there’s a better time- so here it is… Over the past year I’ve reached out several times to a major right wing media personality who I’ve previously had a really good relationship with, who’s been supportive of my work and of me, and he quit responding. I mentioned this to a mutual friend of ours, who told me, “I’ll be honest, he just doesn’t like you.” I sincerely appreciated the honesty- and although I was surprised, I wasn’t that hurt by it because I know for a fact that I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong to this person or anybody he knows, and that this must be based on his own feelings which have nothing to do with me professionally or even personally. This person is highly influential, and has a huge reach, but due to his recent feelings that he doesn’t like me- he won’t be helping to amplify the efforts of the #WalkAway movement. He won’t be sharing the new video I put out a few weeks ago that many are saying is one of the most important political message they’ve heard this year. Apparently, he won’t be acknowledging anything we do at all. I’m sure many of you have noticed that this is not an isolated occurrence. Many of the top tier conservative influencers and personalities have intentionally ignored our efforts, our content, and the hard work my team and I have done for 6.5 years. That’s fine. I’m not entitled to anybody’s friendship or support. Although the cold shoulder is bizarre and inexplicable, people are gonna do what people are gonna do- it is what it is. But I can’t help but think… We’re less than 2 months out from an election that everybody knows is on extremely shaky ground for us. Right now, it’s an absolute no brainer that this should be a unified, full court press locking hands and fighting in solidarity to get us over the finish line victoriously. You “don’t like me”? With all due respect, who TF cares?? We need every unique effort and every effective activist and leader amplified right now. #WalkAway is a completely unique and absolutely crucial, essential movement that we will not win without. The strategies and outreach of #WalkAway are effective and successful, and are not being done by anybody else. At a moment where America is on the brink of permanent extinction- you’re going to withhold your support or allyship- because you “don’t like me”? Every day we hear: “we need to win too big to rig!”- and then the same people saying that are playing games with which people they will and will not allow into their network, and who they will and will not work with and support. It’s so insane that I literally can’t wrap my head around it. If we wake up on November 6th to find that Kamala Harris is our president, and the Democrats now control Congress- we’re done. Kaput. Over. No coming back from this ever. Will the powerful voices on the right who are refusing to work with other people because they “don’t like” somebody or because they don’t want to be a part of amplifying somebody else’s efforts feel good about the fact that when their country needed them the most, they chose pettiness and self-interest over doing everything that could possibly be done, and amplifying every effective voice to save our republic from the brink of death? I can not comprehend this mentality or this behavior. And… it’s POLITICS for God’s sake!! Since when do people in politics have to “like each other” to work together and get things done??? I have attended hundreds of political events the past 6 years- 90% of the people in attendance don’t actually like each other. It’s not a Tupperware party- it’s an effort to fight for our liberties, which we’re a heartbeat away from losing. I sincerely hope that in these final weeks something changes. But if it doesn’t, and God forbid we see a loss in November, one of the most devastating consequences that will linger forever will be the knowledge that we truly did NOT do everything that we could. We could have put personal feelings aside and just gone to battle together as a unified front and sorted the rest out after November. The clock is ticking and we’re running out of time. I really hope everybody gets their priorities straight while we still can. Let’s pull together now and do this, you guys. Our country needs us.
