In her closing remarks at the Regional Women Leaders’ Summit, @AAssimwe Independent #UWONET Member, emphasized that with the 2026 general elections approaching, women leaders must stay engaged, amplify their voices, and boldly claim their spaces in leadership and decision-making.
While progress has been made, she highlighted persistent barriers that continue to limit women’s meaningful participation in civic and electoral processes—gender bias, financial constraints, misinformation, and systemic inequalities. It is time to dismantle these obstacles and ensure women’s full inclusion in leadership.
