As Day One of #VCAT wrapped up, providers reflected on Rwanda’s legal framework on #SRHR, including safe abortion. They explored the evolution roadmap of Rwanda’s abortion laws from total criminalization before 2009 to the present ministerial order 2024. Although, Rwanda’s health regulations are modernized and unified; the research shows that many providers still lack full awareness of national guidelines.
Today’s key takeaway is that following the law is a professional duty and a powerful tool for delivering ethical, stigma-free, and client-centered care.
