Exciting milestone! Today we launched a groundbreaking project in collaboration with Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (#VREF) to improve mobility and access in African cities.
While presiding over the launch, DVC-SPA Dr. @RayNdikumana highlighted the power of partnerships in reshaping urban transport. He praised the project's vision to build inclusive transport systems that leave no one behind.
Titled “Popular-to-Popular Transport Integration in Sub-Saharan Africa (POINT),” this joint research effort with @KNUSTGH #Ghana, @UniofOxford #UK and Aalto University #Finland is set to generate actionable insights for tackling transport challenges in Rwanda and Ghana; insights that could benefit the entire region.

This was the current wind upon our arrival. It was 160 at 31 G 48. The #VRef speed for 631,000 lbs was 154 kts at F30 and 160 Kts at F25. To accommodate for these winds, we take half the wind (31 Kts) plus all the gust (17 Kts) not to exceed 20 Kts and add it to our Vref speed (31÷2)=15+17=32. In this case, we must use 20 Kts.
