Biggg day for $VAL — the stock is up around 27% today after news that $RIG will acquire #Valaris in an all-stock deal. Unexpected, to be honest, but it answers the question from our last post about a potential breakout above the 200MA 😉 It also shows that the #offshore sector is coming back to life! #oil

A good sign for #earnings season is that the #stocks are leading the #oil sector on high volume ahead of their numbers. Short-term pullbacks can, of course, happen — but there’s no reason to worry as long as the broader trend remains intact #valaris

Besides $RIG we are also fans of $VAL, which entered into a fresh Stage 2 breakout last week. #Valaris had already shown strong accumulation volume in advance and moves higher now. In general, many Weinstein Stage 2 breakouts are occurring in the #offshore sector.
