"The Supreme Court is not an error-correcting court, and they're not going to take a case simply because they think the Court of Appeals got it wrong," says Elise Larson. Instead, they often choose cases to clarify the law or help develop an area of law. #VoicesDrivingChange
In 2018, the Supreme Court took 150 cases, but only 30 of these cases were "discretionary," out of 400 requests to review. 2020 is similar, so MCEA is involved in 5 of around 30 discretionary cases at the Court this year. That's a really high number. #VoicesDrivingChange
