#VolcanoFIRE[UPDATE 7/8/26 @ 1:00 PM]: The Evacuation Warnings have been lifted. The Evacuation Order in Zone RVC-2146 has been reduced to an Evacuation Warning, and an Evacuation Order for 117-Volcano Fire Perimeter is still in place.
#VolcanoFIRE[UPDATE 7/8/26 @ 7:30 AM]: The fire perimeter remained in the 138 acres footprint and is now 45% contained. Crews made good progress last night working hot spots around the perimeter. Crews today will continue to strengthen containment lines and work heavy fuel deposits and hot spots in the interior of the fire. Temperatures will increase today and crew from throughout southern California have arrived to assist in the fire fight. Evacuation Orders and Warnings remain in place and will be reevaluated as conditions warrant.

#VolcanoFire in Riverside county is 137 acres and 25% contained, crews are working heavy hot spots and making fire line
#PipelineFire in San Diego County is 1,065 acres and 80% contained
#BearFire in San Luis Obispo County is 542 acres and 80% contained
#3-1Fire in Lassen County is 800 acres and 5% contained
#TwitchellFire on the border of San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties is 10 acres with Foward progress stopped.

#VolcanoFIRE[UPDATE 7/7/26 @ 10:00 PM]: The fire was mapped by Intel Flight at 138 acres and remains 25% contained. Crews will continue working throughout the night assisted by night flying helicopters. There are no reports of injuries to firefighters or civilians. This will be the last update for the night unless there are significant changes.
#VolcanoFire Air Attack 330 is Released, Copter 605 and Helitanker 9CU remain assigned for the Fire tonight.

The cause of the fire was not immediately reported.
The so-called Volcano fire was reported at 2:50 p.m. at Via Volcano and Tenaja Road in the La Cresta area.
Some roads, including Tenaja, were closed.
At 3:50 p.m., an incident commander requested several areas be evacuated and asked for two more battalion chiefs, four more bulldozers and two more water tankers.
