Seems I failed to take photos during the #wgfast @ICES_ASC meeting last week. Too busy sharing our NOAA NCAI @NOAANCEI @CIRESnews #datalake work, learning about the latest amazing fisheries acoustic research, catching up with old colleagues and making new ones. #portlandME

The #wgfast @ICES_ASC meeting was a cool opportunity to meet folks I have only interacted with virtually and learn about the cutting edge research and technologies folks have been painstakingly develop. And to get feedback on our (@Warren_Lab) work on krill, pteropods, and more!

First in-person meeting after 3 years. I was very excited (and a little nervous) to present the work we do in @niwa_nz on rattails in the Ross Sea at the #wgfast Symposium in Portland Maine.
Thank you @ICES_ASC for supporting me and the other ECS to attend the meeting.

Our Working Group on Fisheries Acoustics, Science & Technology members that are present in Somone, Senegal are happy to talk science face-to-face!
#WGFAST -meeting in person & online-focus on the science & technology used to observe the marine environment.

Check out this awesome video on #acoustics data from Carrie Wall @NOAANCEI and member of #WGFAST, as she talks about visualizing archived water column #sonar data (spot Echoview in here too)!

Thank to Michael Jech @NOAAFish_NEFSC West Africa will host next @ICES #WGFAST annual meeting in April 2022 in Dakar, with the support of @ird_fr @ISRA_Senegal & @CSRP2016 to promote science in fisheries management and capacity building in Africa @LemarLab #Imrop @UEauSenegal

And, @mumudunn rocked it! It was a long week, but a GREAT week of Fisheries, Acoustics, Science and Technology #WGFAST presentations, discussions, and virtual comradary. Hopefully we can meet in person next year.
Combining #acoustics w/ #optics (& hydrodynamics) is the most exciting research there is. There you go :) Fascinating talk by Sven Gastauer #WGFAST today. Important water column insight to understand marine animal distributions. #IrishSea pic with @AlexNimmoSmith @jambeansal :

Great @ICES_ASC #WGFAST / JFATB meeting today. Full with new insights on how we can study mesopelagic organisms. Info on gear selectivity and deep vision systems by Melanie Underwood and @ShaleRosen and by @IglesiasIly who is studying mesos in the California Current.

#WGFAST, our Working Group on Fisheries Acoustics, Science and Technology focuses on the development and application of science and technology used to observe the marine environment.
