Comparing the two pictures, you can see how much I studied today (the plan to work for five hours straight did not meet expectations because I had to take a break for about 20 minutes in the middle)
Chapter 2 "Work intensity test"
Today, I will conduct the second item of the preliminary preparation work of the "process planning" working method: "intensity test" (early stage of task/simple work content background).
The specific content of my "intensity test" is to study SQL knowledge for 5 hours without interruption..
In the "process planning" working method that I discovered and created, such "intensity test" is divided according to the time stage, and there is one in the early stage of the project/work task, the middle stage of the project/work task, and the late stage of the project (task). They cannot be omitted because this link is of great significance to both individuals and organizations.
For individuals (such as process planners):
The "process planning" working method considers emergencies and work errors as inevitable situations from the beginning.
This means that in order to complete our work before the known work deadline, there must be a period (or even several) in the project/work task process when we need to "hurry up", so we need to know where our "work intensity limit" is, so that we can correctly judge whether we can complete our tasks independently and whether we need to apply for team support, so as to make timely demands to the team's decision makers.
The number of personnel and resources in any organization is limited. Making correct work expectations and making our demands in a timely manner will help us get support faster and ensure that the team's work rhythm is stable and efficient, which is more conducive to improving the completion of team tasks.
For organizations using process planning work methods:
A complex organization composed of multiple teams, whether for-profit or non-profit, will be affected by the operation of each organization that makes it up.
Any team that makes up an organization encounters a big problem, which will more or less affect the operation of the entire organization. If the entire organization cannot quickly solve the difficulties of the problem team due to resource or personnel shortages, then the negative impact on the organization will inevitably be longer and the losses will be greater. This is a common negative cycle of organizational management.
If each team can accurately propose the needs of the future team, the reasons for the needs, and the possible consequences of unmet needs to the decision maker based on the correct work expectations before the start of the work phase, then even if the decision maker cannot meet all these needs due to the size of the organization itself, he/she/they can prepare as much as possible for a series of situations that may occur in the future based on this information, which will undoubtedly greatly help to alleviate or even break the common negative cycle of organizational management mentioned above, or at least postpone the time point when this negative cycle drags down the organization as much as possible.
The establishment of the "strength testing" link fully demonstrates the "process planning" working method and its great value to personal work, teamwork and organizational development.

Chapter 2 Process planning starting from "knowing nothing": measuring the degree of adaptation between myself and the task
I once said that I would share my learning progress with readers to give them a specific demonstration of "process planning". I have listened to some courses on the DataCamp platform intermittently in the past three days, so I think it is time to start.
I have personally learned some knowledge in the computer field, but I prefer computer hardware. I have not studied database technology specifically. I only know that database technology is widely used in the business field: I obtained a bachelor's degree in economics more than ten years ago, and big data is too important for economic development. Anyone with professional knowledge in economics, even if they do not understand programming languages, will more or less know something about big data.
Under this premise, according to the "process planning" working method, I did not start from the most basic course, but directly clicked on a slightly more advanced course. There are two reasons for doing this:
1. Not starting from the most basic course is to measure whether I am interested in this knowledge. Learning a new technology requires a lot of time. The sooner I find out that I don’t like what I’m learning, the more I can avoid wasting time. Moreover, this learning opportunity is very valuable. If I can’t make good use of it, I should give it to someone who really likes it.
2. I only start with slightly more advanced courses to assess my level of knowledge in this area. I regard "learning SQL courses on DataCamp" as a work task, and one of the purposes of "process planning" is to maximize efficiency and shorten task time. If I can easily understand slightly more advanced courses, I can skip the most basic SQL common sense learning part and shorten the completion time of this work task.
Fortunately, although I didn’t understand what the teacher was saying at all, I found that I was still interested in this course.
Please don't get me wrong, I don't mean that the teacher is not good. On the contrary, the teacher of my first course on Datacamp, Ms. Maham Faisal Khan, was very detailed and serious. Unfortunately, I didn't know anything about SQL (I got a score of 0 in the first test I took on the website), which made me more eager to learn about SQL.
So, I started to do what I could do at the moment: to find all the basic knowledge about SQL that I could find, select the parts that I could understand to learn, and increase my knowledge of SQL technology, such as some professional terms, concepts and definitions.
And this is one of the preliminary work of starting a task with "process planning": measuring the degree of adaptation between myself and the task.

The reason why I say that process planning ability is important for both individuals and organizations is because this ability can actually be widely applied to our personal lives.
When I say "the best way to improve process planning ability is to complete a complex thing", "complex things" also include learning a language or learning a skill:The application scope of process planning ability has never been limited to the work field, it is also applicable to life and study - in fact, each of us uses it every day, but we seldom realize it.
If you don't believe this, then imagine this:
When you try to tidy up your things, will it speed up your tidying up if you plan the order and location of tidying up in advance?
Does your best order of tidying up and the perfect way to tidy up various items (such as where is the easiest for you to access and the easiest to remember) come a lot from the experience of tidying up various items (whether it is your own or others)?
Yes, "tidying up items - discovering the best tidying methods in your opinion during the tidying up process - using these methods in every future tidying up of items" is actually a process planning.
When I was thinking about how to use the simplest and most understandable language to explain how to develop process planning skills, I saw #DataCampDonatesWomeninBigDataIndividualScholarship. I realized that this is not only a very valuable learning opportunity, but also a very good opportunity to improve process planning skills, so I applied without hesitation and was honored to get this opportunity.
Chinese people often say "facts speak louder than words", I think this sentence is completely applicable to the field of process planning experience sharing, so I want to take advantage of this valuable learning opportunity to conduct a complete process planning operation in this field that is completely unfamiliar to me.
The first link/first element of process planning is “Before the project/work task process begins, the ability to clarify the content and goals of each link of the project/work task.”
In this process planning practice, my learning content and purpose is "Understand the expertise of AI and data analysis, learn to use some professional technical tools." (This is the learning purpose I filled in the application form)
To be honest, I know nothing about #AI# and #data analysis#, so I am not sure how long it will take to achieve this goal. I wish myself good luck and hope that the articles I will share in the future will be useful to everyone.
Finally, I want to thank #WomeninBigData (#WiBD)and #DataCamp for helping and supporting people looking for work, members of disadvantaged communities, students, and nonprofit research scientists: everyone who has been helped, including me, will be forever grateful.
