New Orleans needs to embrace #WeBeDiggin All about flood mitigation Digging small holes to bring back our tree canopy, which has been diminished by 30% in just the last 20 years. 30%! Digging large holes for retention pond everywhere This helps absorb potential flood waters

@miss_rougarou Yes. My house is surrounded by gardens and grass and a few years ago, I planted a live oak tree in my front yard. All of these things help mitigate flooding. How do I misrepresent the scale needed? More retention ponds equal less flooding #WeBeDiggin

I honestly don’t understand how people in the metro area aren’t pushing for #RetentionPond everywhere they could be built that’s humanly possible. It’s mind-boggling. #WeBeDiggin Should be our motto Little holes, planting trees everywhere. And big holes for retention ponds

The motto of New Orleans should be #WeBeDiggin’ 24/7/365 all we do in New Orleans is dig holes. Small ones for planting trees. Especially since 30% of our tree canopy has vanished in the last 20 years. 30%!!! And big big holes for #RetentionPonds, for flood control. Overdue

Some estimates say New Orleans has lost as much as 1/3 of its tree canopy in the last 20 years. It’s time we start proactively planting trees all over the city, everywhere. #WeBeDiggin We need to dig small holes for trees and large holes for retention ponds now! Improve NOLA
