Due to Beryl’s angle of approach, the entirety of the island of Jamaica (including the capital, Kingston) will experience the worst quadrant of the storm.
Storm surge of 6-9 feet (NHC) & quick moving tropical tornadoes are possible today.
While looking sheared to hell and back on satellite, #Beryl's northern eyewall is packing winds of at least 120-125KT according to a new NOAA recon pass. Unfortunately, this quadrant is forecast to pass close to Jamaica later today, bringing intense impacts to the island nation.

#WeatherExplained: Intense hurricanes like Major Hurricane #Beryl often cycle in intensity as internal dynamics such as an Eye Wall Replacement Cycle (ERC/EWRC) can occur. While the max winds come down, the wind field expands. Here is a simplified graphic to explain the process:
Appears the ERC has begun as latest dropsone has shown pressure leveling off. While FL winds have also dropped some, we're still likely looking at an extremely powerful category 5 hurricane for the time being.
Shear and ERC will weaken #Beryl throughout next 48 hours.
