Wow! So this is why @thedavidcook is in the dark! We had a derecho in 2012 and some people were without power for weeks because of the damage. I'll stop complaining about rain and chilly temps here... #weathergeekstuff

I know this looks weird, but the radar is set on "Correlation Coefficient". It's better at seeing the rain/snow line. Represented by the line the arrows are pointing at. The composite radar sometimes has a hard time seeing this. #WeatherGeekStuff

Interesting statement from @NWS_BaltWash tonight. The snow-liquid ratio on this storm was 20-1. It's typically 10-1. That explains some of the bigger snow amounts reported. #WeatherGeekStuff

Just a small forecasting note: Thickness parameters look good for snow West of the Bay, but marginal East. Model snow output maps often mistake a "mix" as accumulating snow. #mdwx #WeatherGeekStuff
