Tried firebase? What are the reasons you used or did not use it?
TLDR;
- Firebase (now) supports python cloud functions that can be used to write a dynamic api for your app, and hosted on the same domain (rewites)
- Authentication flows are easy. Get a a firebase id token on the frontend using firebase auth from your user. Use it to restrict api access on the backend. Custom claims provide custom attributes you can use for even more finegrained access.
- Beyond the free tier, costs can rack up (pricing based on bandwidth, storage, writes, function invocations etc) compared to other providers (many which are free .. GH Pages, Netflify etc), but does offer more tools and excellent dev experience IMO.
I mentioned toy project above, but the exact infra/setup will work reliably for millions of users.
