Here’s our second finalist for the #WhyMineBitcoin campaign.
We were moved by this one: a powerful reminder that Bitcoin mining is open to everyone. It’s not just about tech or capital, it’s about contributing to something bigger, and reclaiming control.
This entry captured the heart of decentralization and why Bitcoin mining matters. Congrats ! @roginnnn
Finalist 3 coming soon ~
Why mine #Bitcoin? Because its for everyone, not just for people who can afford it or know a lot about #technology. It’s a way to be part of something bigger a system that supports #decentralization and gives people more control over their money.
Whether you have a lot or a little, mining lets you take part in keeping Bitcoin #strong and #secure. It’s not just about earning some $BTC. Mining is proof that anyone, anywhere, can contribute to the security and integrity of it. You don’t need to live near Wall Street or trust politicians to protect your future you can help build it yourself.
For me, Bitcoin mining means taking back control. It’s more than coins or chasing gain, it’s freedom from a system's chain.

Congratulations, AL!
Finalists 2 and 3 will be revealed later today. Stay tuned.
Mining is what initially got me interested in Bitcoin. I remember the day very well. I was sitting in class and learning something about algorithms when the professor mentioned Bitcoin mining and the emergence of big mining farms around the globe. Back then I could not fully grasp the concept of mining, decentralization, or Bitcoin.
However, this moment got me interested and I wanted to find out more. When I studied mining more in detail, I realized how fundamental it is for Bitcoin to exist as a decentralized network. It was particularly the game-theoretical aspects which really got me hooked and made me realize the genius behind Satoshi Nakamoto and the design choice for Bitcoin.
Fast forward to today:
-I became part of the global Bitcoin mining network and now run some home miners, including a nerd miner, which was my first device.
-My interest in mining and Bitcoin also got me into Bitcoin-related data analytics. Over the recent weeks, I built a dashboard that contains some mining-related metrics and I fetched data points to get an overview of the evolution of the Bitcoin mining market over time. I wrote a short post about it (I will attach the link).
As I say in the post, mining to me represents the heartbeat of the Bitcoin network. The data shows that mining has become a competitive industry and the market today is concentrated and dominated by a few big players. Of course we all wanted that Bitcoin becomes more relevant and more valuable and most of us also accept that this would eventually attract big, centralized players.
While Bitcoin is a decentralized and permissionless network where anybody can participate, the fact that there are now more people running their own mining devices and many of them doing solo mining, makes me happy. The current collective hashrate contribution of solo miners might be small when looking at the total network stats. However, it is, device by device, a development that goes into the direction that complies with the decentralized ethos of Bitcoin. I hope this trend continues.
Since I wrote a small novel, I guess I need a closure. In the end, I just want to say that Bitcoin and mining made me realize how centralized everything around me is and that I never really questioned the centralized setup of the society I live in. I truly believe that everybody who studies Bitcoin and its components - mining being one of them - develops a mindset where you do not simply accept status quo but you actually reassess the environment you live in and you consider and embrace new perspectives.

Mining Bitcoin is one of the most friendly and sustainable ways to earn crypto over time. Below is the reason why:
- Passive Income, Once you’re set up, your rig works while you sleep. No charts, no stress, you just earn . 💸
- No stress, no trading headache, Unlike trading, mining doesn’t require decisions or timing in the market, no need to watch red candles.💖
- No KYC needed. You keep your coins, your keys, you’re in control . 🔑
- Bitcoin miners play the long game. BTC is volatile, but mining lets you stack sats no matter the price. 👌
- Strengthens the Bitcoin Ecosystem. Miners are the foundation of Bitcoin. Without them, there would be no blockchain. 💡
