The @moecc_qatar through its Wildlife Protection Department, has apprehended an individual for illegally logging and cutting #wildtrees near Al-Kharib Complex in the Central Region, taking necessary legal action in line with environmental protection laws.
The Ministry urged visitors to wilderness areas to #preserve #Qatar’s natural #vegetation and cooperate with authorities by reporting any environmental violations.

Still so much talk of tree planting and so little of Natural regen. And we need to value scrub, young woodland and species like Birch, Willows, Hawthorn and Hazel so much more. Nature is far more likely to put the #RightTreeInTheRightPlace than we are.

Finally going to check out this probable remnant Caledonian pine that I spotted way back in April, hiding out amongst forestry plantation. Nearest recognised remnant is 17km away, next nearest is 26km. Still plenty out there to be discovered! #wildtrees
