Among many aspects, we discussed #winratio in ICU trials:
1. Allows assessment of meaningful outcomes - e.g., organ-support free days
2. Maintains outcome prioritization
3.⬆️ efficiency
This was a hierarchical composite outcome, with mortality appropriately positioned at the top of the hierarchy.
#Endpoints of lower clinical importance were analyzed lower in the hierarchy.
A #WinRatio analysis was adopted for pairwise comparisons.
Sorry, it can’t be that important if the composite outcome has both length to stay and mortality in it. Composite outcomes have to combine events of equal magnitude. If not, they are meaningless.
Has there been precedence for use of #WinRatio or #DOOR primary analytic approach for any #RCT in which #FDA / #EMA #regulatory approval was / is being sought for a #drug?
