🔴 سناتور پیر گالاند رئیس پیشین سازمان جهانی علیه شکنجه طی مقاله‌ای در روزنامه بلژیکی لوسوار نوشت: مردم ایران نباید بین عمامه و تاج یکی را انتخاب کنند. در جریان خیزش‌های مردمی در ایران بسیاری از معترضان مخالفت همزمان خود را با دیکتاتوری مذهبی و بازگشت به سلطنت ابراز کردند. شعار «مرگ بر ستمگر، چه شاه و چه رهبر» به یکی از برجسته‌ترین جلوه‌های این آرمان تبدیل شد
سناتور پیر گالاند افزود: برجسته‌سازی یک چهره سلطنت به‌عنوان جایگزین رژیم به‌طور متناقضی می‌تواند در خدمت منافع رژیم حاکم باشد
وی تأکید کرد: حق تعیین آینده سیاسی تنها متعلق به مردم ایران است. نه دیکتاتوری مذهبی، نه وارثان سلطنت پیشین و نه هیچ قدرت خارجی نمی‌توانند ادعا کنند که به‌نمایندگی از مردم ایران سخن می‌گویند

Amid reports of Reza Pahlavi’s visit to Canada, I want to make one thing clear—as a former political prisoner and as an Iranian: many of us reject every form of dictatorship, whether theocracy or monarchy. His presence in Canada, and the hype surrounding it, should not be mistaken for evidence of popular support. To many of us, it is yet another attempt by Pahlavi and his supporters to portray him as a leader he has never been, is not, and will never be.
Iran is facing a historic moment. If the regime of the mullahs falls, the question is who or what kind of a government will replace the current one.
Pahlavi's name is promoted by his supporters.. But his support inside Iran, the organization and reach of his movement, his political record, and his relationships with other opposition forces deserve serious scrutiny—not slogans, nostalgia, or social-media propaganda. One could re-visit the murder of Dr. Masoud Masjoudy in BC, committed by two individuals reported of having close ties with Reza Pahlavi and his supporters.
Recent reporting, including by Reuters, has raised important questions about the difficulties his movement faces in building a broad and unified opposition.
The Iranian people deserve the right to determine their own future through a system based on freedom, democracy, human rights, and accountability.
No dictator—past or present—should be presented as Iran’s inevitable future.
Iran belongs to its people, not to a dynasty, a clerical regime, or any individual claiming to speak for them.
