SAVAK’s history of torture & repression must never be glorified or forgotten. Reviving the language & symbols of political intimidation is incompatible with freedom, human dignity, & democratic principles

A reprehensible and clear manifestation of the anti-democratic repressive nature of Reza Pahlavi activists, who has no shame in boasting about reviving the secret police SAVAK. #No2ShahNo2Mullahs
@A_Jafarzadeh Targeted sanctions should focus on the IRGC and the financial networks that sustain its activities, Accountability must remain at the center of international policy #NCRIAlternative #No2ShahNo2Mullahs

Why shouldn't representatives of the Palestinian people be present at the United Nations summit, while the leaders of the bloodthirsty mullahs' regime attend—albeit in disgrace? #YesToDemocraticRepublic
@STehraniparsa @PierrePoilievre @MelissaLantsman @PahlaviReza Exactly. Iran’s future must be decided by its people through free and fair elections not by restoring any form of unelected rule from the past. Supporting democracy, pluralism and popular sovereignty should be the principle #No2Pahlavi

@RudyGiuliani An important perspective from Dr. Firouz Daneshgari, a former political prisoner. The world must stand with the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom, human rights, and a democratic future

I have a personal memory from around 1975 that, for me, illustrates how fear and distrust of SAVAK had entered even the everyday social relationships of ordinary people. This happened in the neighborhood where I grew up

@ablrchi Political legitimacy cannot be inherited through a crown or manufactured through slogans. Iran’s future belongs to its people, who should determine their government through free elections and democratic institutions.

In fact, the monarchist movement has been nothing more than a deception aimed at diverting the Iranian people’s democratic revolution and ultimately serving the regime’s interests

Tomorrow, Pahlavi will appear in Toronto alongside Poilievre. One principle must remain clear: no meeting, stage, royal title or foreign politician can give an unelected individual a democratic mandate to represent the Iranian people #No2ShahNo2Mullas

@PierrePoilievre @MelissaLantsman @TimUppal @AndrewScheer @FrankCaputoKTN @MichaelCooperMP 5/7 Reuters also reported that 3 pple who knew Pahlavi said he had
never held a conventional salaried job. Pahlavi responded that decades
of unpaid political activity constituted his service to Iran. This is
part of his public record 4 Iranians to assess

The Iranian people have already suffered under both theocracy and monarchy. What they deserve is the right to freely choose a democratic, secular, accountable republic, nothing less.

Amid reports of Reza Pahlavi’s visit to Canada, I want to make one thing clear—as a former political prisoner and as an Iranian: many of us reject every form of dictatorship, whether theocracy or monarchy. His presence in Canada, and the hype surrounding it, should not be mistaken for evidence of popular support. To many of us, it is yet another attempt by Pahlavi and his supporters to portray him as a leader he has never been, is not, and will never be.
Iran is facing a historic moment. If the regime of the mullahs falls, the question is who or what kind of a government will replace the current one.
Pahlavi's name is promoted by his supporters.. But his support inside Iran, the organization and reach of his movement, his political record, and his relationships with other opposition forces deserve serious scrutiny—not slogans, nostalgia, or social-media propaganda. One could re-visit the murder of Dr. Masoud Masjoudy in BC, committed by two individuals reported of having close ties with Reza Pahlavi and his supporters.
Recent reporting, including by Reuters, has raised important questions about the difficulties his movement faces in building a broad and unified opposition.
The Iranian people deserve the right to determine their own future through a system based on freedom, democracy, human rights, and accountability.
No dictator—past or present—should be presented as Iran’s inevitable future.
Iran belongs to its people, not to a dynasty, a clerical regime, or any individual claiming to speak for them.
