While some sectors face challenges, the success stories i had come to know about in precision farming for vegetables and orchards are truly inspiring.
Attached to this post is my chat with an elder i met on this all, who alleges to have a vineyard with over 2,400 grapevines on about a hectare of land. They harvest twice a year, with each harvest yielding an average of 6-8 kg per vine, totaling about 14-16 tons (14,000-16,000 kg) per harvest. Each kilogram sells for about 5,000 to 6,000 naira, resulting in approximately 85-90 million naira per harvest, twice a year. π₯² (Lifetime pension)
Note: It takes 3-4 years for a grapevine to start fruiting, and it can remain productive for up to 40-50 years.
