⚡ #Angular22.2 brings in router resources, which for now are in Developer Preview.
They are a signal-based alternative to resolvers and can be either blocking or nonBlocking.
With non-blocking resources, you can show loading skeletons on the page while the data is loading.
💡 To use this feature, add withRouterResources() to your router config and declare resources in your route configuration (example below).
➡️ Then you can read the resources through component inputs. Make sure you have withComponentInputBinding() enabled.

#Angular22.2 brought in @ boundary blocks, which let you catch errors in templates ⚡
Before this feature was released, if a component threw an error during rendering, part of the app didn't render at all.
The new block gives you a way to handle these rendering errors, so if something goes wrong, you can show a fallback UI.
Within the error blocks, you can:
➡️ use the '$error' variable to access the caught error
➡️ call the '$reset()' function to retry rendering the block
Note: the latest version of Prettier already supports formatting @ boundary blocks.
For now, they are available in #Developer Preview ⚙️

Since #Angular22.1, you can migrate from @ Injectable to the new @ Service decorator using ng generate @ angular/core:service 🔥
The migration mapping is straightforward:
1️⃣ @ Injectable({ providedIn: 'root' }) becomes @ Service()
2️⃣ @ Injectable() becomes @ Service({ autoProvided: false })
Keep in mind that the schematic will intentionally ignore any services that use constructor-based dependency injection or have a providedIn value other than 'root'.
👉 If you are still working with legacy code, it's a great idea to run the
ng generate @ angular/core:inject

Our fresh, updated Complete Guide to Signal Forms is here ⚡
Signal Forms give you a more modern, type-safe way to build forms in #Angular than what came before.
And now that they're stable in #Angular22, a lot has changed.
You seemed to find the previous version of his guide useful, so GDE @m_stefanczyk went back and updated it with everything new.
✅ Typing
✅ Validation
✅ Reusability
✅ Migration
✅ Debouncing
And much more!

In #Angular22.2, each route definition will have an optional resources parameter where you can declare necessary resources for that route.
🛠️ By default, these resources will block the page load until they are fully resolved (similar to traditional resolvers or guards).
If you want to opt out of this behavior (for example, to show skeleton loaders), you can wrap the resource in the nonBlocking() utility.
Overall, this introduces a standard way to define resources at the route level.

Stability debugging in #Angular22 ⭐
💪 Challenge:
When #Angular apps take too long to stabilize, finding the cause can be difficult, especially with hydration, zoneless applications, or complex change detection. Without good diagnostics, developers often resort to trial and error.
🧠 v22 Solution:
The provideStabilityDebugging() tool helps identify why an app stays unstable past the 9-second limit. With Zone.js, it works with the task-tracking plugin for more details on macrotasks. If stabilization fails, the tool logs pending tasks and stack traces to the console.
🤝 Benefit:
It’s now easier to find what’s preventing Angular from stabilizing. Especially helpful for debugging hydration, zoneless behavior, or elusive async tasks. Rather than guess, devs see which tasks are pending and how they originated.

Lazy loading services in #Angular22 explained 🔥
Until recently, #Angular’s lazy loading only worked well for whole routes and components, leaving out services.
→ Angular 22 closes that gap with injectAsync, which loads a service the first time you ask for the instance.
To explain it thoroughly, GDE @m_stefanczyk prepared a new comprehensive article for you.
Learn:
✅ How injectAsync works, based on examples from a real project
✅ What injectAsync needs to work

#Angular22: Debouncing signals ⚡
In v22 we got debounced():
→ A utility that takes a signal and returns a debounced version of it, modeled as a Resource.
🛠️ That means you get more than just a delayed value; you get status information too, so you know whether it's still pending, has settled, or failed.
You can also pass a numeric delay or a custom wait function, depending on how much control you need.
Because the result is a Resource, it plugs directly into the rest of #Angular's async reactive ecosystem instead of living as a one-off pattern in your codebase ⚙️
Small addition, but a gap-filler that makes signals feel more complete as a system.

Boost your performance: Incremental hydration as default behavior in #Angular22! 💧
💪 Challenge:
Before v22, incremental hydration required devs to opt in. When an important change depends on extra configuration, it is natural for it to be adopted more slowly and for app setups to become less consistent across the ecosystem.
🧠 Solution:
#Angular changed provideClientHydration() so that incremental hydration is now enabled by default. At the same time, it introduced a new withNoIncrementalHydration() option for applications that need to opt out explicitly.
🤝 Benefit:
This change makes setting up applications easier, encourages the use of incremental hydration, and helps to make performance-oriented defaults more consistent across Angular projects. Devs still have control through an explicit opt-out mechanism.

Just migrated an existing Angular app from v21 → v22.
It wasn't just ng update cos I
had to update Node, fix a missing dependency, review Angular's migrations across 78 components, move to the newer build system, and handle changes around change detection.

Coming in #Angular22.1: ⚙️ New options in withHttpTransferCacheOptions
This change in #Angular means that when configuring transfer cache options in an #SSR app, you’ll now have two new options:
1️⃣ includeRequestsWithCredentials:
→ Determines whether requests sent using withCredentials or Fetch API credentials modes are eligible for caching.
2️⃣ includeNonCacheableRequests:
→ Determines whether requests and responses containing Cache-Control directives that forbid caching, responses with a Set-Cookie header, or requests using Fetch API cache options are eligible for caching.
By default, both of these options will be set to false ❌
Do you think you’ll find it useful?

In our pre-release poll for the new edition of “The Ultimate Guide to Angular Evolution,” we asked which area of #Angular22 matters most to you ❓
The results are in, and after a close race, performance took the top spot 👇
Here’s how #Angular v22 rises to the challenge:
🧹 Route injector cleanup (experimental)
Frees memory by removing unused route injectors.
🛠️ OnPush by default
Cuts unnecessary change detection.
💧 Incremental hydration by default
Improves SSR performance with less setup.
⚙️ #SSR resource caching
Prevents duplicate data fetching after hydration.
🐢 Lazy service injection
Loads heavy services only when needed.

🆕 #Angular22: Integration of WebMCP
Starting in #Chrome 149, the proposed #WebMCP API officially enters its origin trial.
This standard lets you expose structured tools (like JS functions and HTML forms) directly to browser-based AI agents, so they know exactly how to interact with your application.
→ #Angular 22 already provides experimental, framework-level support for this new API across several areas:
📱 Application-wide:
Use provideExperimentalWebMcpTools() in your app.config.ts to register global tools.
🧭 Route-scoped:
Define provideExperimentalWebMcpTools() at the route level and pair it with withExperimentalAutoCleanupInjectors() to ensure tools are automatically unregistered when the user navigates away.
💻 Service-scoped:
Call declareExperimentalWebMcpTool() inside a service constructor to make the tool available strictly during that service's lifecycle.
📝 Form-scoped:
Pass the experimentalWebMcpTool property into your Signal Form options to define a form-specific WebMCP tool. Currently, there is no support for traditional Reactive Forms.
Below, there’s an example of an application-wide WebMCP that allows agents to navigate across pages in the application 👇
A general recommendation is to make sure to validate agent inputs at runtime, as the Angular API does not provide built-in schema guards!
For more information about this new API, see the official documentation.
