My parents call of their children the nickname boobaloo. It has been that way since I was little. I asked my mom what it means and she said it was just a play on baloo from the Jungle Book. I thought of the way with words podcast from class and if anyone else uses it. #Anth304

Tweeting really constricts how you use language and this assignment really made me think about how to use words concisely. #anth304
I’ve always thought it was interesting how people talk to their dogs in caregiver speak. It goes to show how much we value our furry companions. #anth304
The SPEAKING model is relevant to so many interactions in everyday life as well as in everyday medias like Twitter, Instagram and even shows/movies. #ANTH304

One thing that has happened lately that might relate to linguistics is the fact that many understand what "covid19" is. It transcends language/cultural barriers. Something that once was not a thought is now in the minds of people who would not normally be connected. #Anth304
I’m ready for tomorrow’s midterm! And this week’s readings were really interesting. Performativity > Performance #ANTH304

No class Tuesday and didn’t go on Thursday because my take home exam for conservation class got lost in the cloud and I had to start over when it’s due today 😭 but definitely found the Mauli Ola lecture deeply meaningful. Can’t wait to talk about it in class next week #ANTH304
I saw a classmates tweet about how we view time though lanuguage, and it made me think about how I think about time. When I think about time I see a calendar, and when I think about numbers I think of them in rows of 10. Language affects how we visualize our thoughts. #Anth304
Alright that Temple Grandin video had me freaked out. DAE here think in images like that? I always thought everyone did. #ANTH304
