Having recently expanded their heavy-duty fleet of mixers and haulers to near-zero natural gas trucks, @NationalMix walked us through the conversion of one of their renewable CNG-powered cement trucks displayed at South Coast AQMD’s #CleanTechFair. #AQTech

At South Coast AQMD’s #CleanTechFair, we were able to see inside this all-electric @VolvoTrucksNA Wheel Loader where batteries replace the diesel engine. Even when powered on, this heavy-duty equipment runs quietly and with zero emissions. #AQTech
#AQTech: Used mainly to analyze elements in geological material such as soils, our AQ Scientists use this Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Spectrometer to analyze trace elements, from Sodium through Uranium, in Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5).

#AQTech: Both the autosampler (left) and ion chromatograph (right) in our lab are used to determine the concentrations of sodium, ammonium, potassium, magnesium and calcium in filter samples of particulate matter (PM2.5).

#AQTech: Our AQ Laboratory’s X-ray diffractometer is used to analyze the structure of materials in different samples, such as particulate deposition, asbestos containing materials, and unknown materials collected during incident response events.

It also provides an easy point of comparison between gas streams before, and following, treatment at a facility. Analysts are able to use this information to calculate the efficiency of the air pollution controls that keep our air clean. #AQTech (2/2)
