Photography, art and life all fall into this category. Your perspective and outlook has great impact on your journey and destination. Just as we heard on #ArtOnStacks w/ @ReeceSBTC last night, we will come across it again today with @LeoCoinArt at Noon CDT.
Breaking from my standard of my official camera gear to create art, this is a prime example that at times, a phone can equal or surpass. How? It is smaller and often water resistant. I can get closer to the actual ground even when the water is only 1-2mm deep. In great light, it is amazing what a phone can capture. And here, I wanted deep field view anyway.
Both images were taken moments apart. Both were taken from the same spot. One, standing and looking around as if you were a passerby in life oblivious to the beauty that lurks. The other, taking the reigns and making it yours by exploring, experimenting and changing your view. I got on my knees, put the phone down to water level so that it was touching the actual water and then shot to the left which was beautifully lit by the morning sun.
There is no editing here. This is the difference perspective holds. It was only a shallow puddle barely 6-7 feet wide.
Fun experiment where ever you live, but even more fun if in a dense metro area. Go out in the rain or just after, find any puddle (it doesn't have to be huge), get down on the ground and shoot along the water. It's also fund to shoot this style after dark when there is traffic and lights. If you have a little mount to stabilize, try to set a longer exposure for a completely different look (either with a pro camera app to control exposure time or using LIVE VIEW and then selecting long exposure after capture in the Photos app).

Today was another based episode of #ArtOnStacks hosted by @ReeceSBTC. The guest of honour was Abhrodeep (@abhroernesto) . He took us on a journey through what drives him to create. He shared his insights, experiences and intense spirit to move forward with positivity, carving his own future and art style. We ran out of time for additional commentary from the speakers on the stage, including myself. Abhrodeep filled every moment even though it was after midnight in his time zone. Thus, I will note it here. I had been going through his works and fell in love with Absorbing Peace. As a second favourite, Twin Souls spoke as well. The descriptions are key to expand on the visuals.
This might be an older piece, but I immediately connected with it. I absolutely adore this style of watercolour. There is so much intensity and movement mixed with an unwavering peace to accept what is. Interestingly, several scenes/scenarios/feelings were triggered.
(1) I love hot showers, and this brought me to that feeling of being protected in that which engulfs one in the moment water hits. Sometimes, that is all you need after a rough day.
(2) There is a feeling of growth/newness that is brought on from the greens for me. The yellow feeds warmth like a rising sun breaking the horizon and wraps around the land. It's hard to describe the feeling, but closing your eyes for that moment the light and warmth of another day sweeps through is worth every moment of sleep lost.
(3) As I love to personify, this must be what it feels like to the blades of grass in a prairie in the midst of a downpour in the summer, just as the sun breaks through the end of the storm, basking in that light. Absolutely wonderful.
There is so much healing in art, as in music. Abhrodeep caught those moments perfectly for me in a singular painting that had equally powerful personal meaning to himself in a time of healing.
Art that moves emotion is art that lives on.

If you don't know what @stacks is, feel sceptical, or just feel nervous, I hope this answers a few questions you might have as to why @TheBlockWeb will be built on Stacks
