Sorry @jryckman3 that was from the #ASCENDE-RT study (before we did microboosting). Study was done 2001-2010.
But good news! ASCENDE-SBRT (@CDNCancerTrials PR24) allows microboost in both arms.
Study open in 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 since April 2024. Just under 100 recruited from 6 centres

ASCENDE RT was important for showing excellent control, but technique quality apparently was low and is not representative.

@DrAndrewLoblaw @DrMarkCorkum @gerard_morton @VedangMurthy You would expect better ACUTE toxicity profile with the HF and, even UHF schedules. What gives me pause is the unknown LATE toxicity. I favor these trials but caution broad adoption before we know what happens to patients who are likely to survive well beyond 5 years.
We hope to amend #PR24 (#ASCENDE-SBRT) to allow 25/5 in both the brachy and SBRT boost arms.
@DrMarkCorkum and @gerard_morton did similar trial called #SHARP - together this will be great evidence to ultrahypofractionated pelvic RT.
