With the season coming to a close, I gotta ask the big dog a few things.
- Who is the MVP?
- Can anyone in the East beat a healthy Milwaukee, or is it theirs to lose?
- Who is coming out of the West? Nugs, Suns, LAC? Dubs or Lakers got a chance?

My man @SalSports is always on top of these…
Since this is a Saturday 8pm game, does that mean PS call-ups or IR activations can be Saturday by 4pm or Friday by 4pm?

@TheAlexvideo @twotions @TruTvJoker @UsualComics @SpiderMan Let's say for example you slept with murrs sister. What would you do? #asksal
That's it! Our final Coaching Conversations Twitter Q&A with @MaguireSal - thanks to everyone who's submitted #askSAL questions over the past weeks, it's been fantastic!
You can catch up on all our interviews with our playlist: https://t.co/081fBcT7wV

Embrace it! Don’t be afraid of the challenge. Careful planning, recovery, and the ability to keep the mind fresh will be key to success. We’re looking forward to seeing you in the Scottish vest! @MaguireSal #askSAL
@scotathletics @MaguireSal #askSAL What is Stephen’s advice for athletes trying to navigate the 2022 season now there are 3 championships close together?
And what better way to wrap up our final Coaching Conversations Q&A than with a question for @MaguireSal from our very first interviewee, @BethDobbin #askSAL....
We have huge talent in Scotland – among both athletes and coaches – I guess my goal is that if I can play even a tiny part in people realising their potential, then Scotland as a nation will continue to be proud of their athletes. @MaguireSal #askSAL
Role models like @derekrae_85 are very important in the growth of Paralympic sport. Thankfully, people do recognise Paralympians now as elite sportspeople but I think sports need to make it really clear to people just how good Paralympians are. @MaguireSal #askSAL
#askSAL...Para sports has developed a lot in recent years, how do you think we can keep that going and develop it further, increase the profile and opportunities for para athletes?
Our job is to show the athlete how enjoyable and how enriching our sport can be and hope they make the right choices. - @MaguireSal #askSAL
I think it’s important to realise that everything the athlete does is their choice. Whether it’s behaviours – good or bad, non-compliance to what we perceive as proper training, we have to recognise each athlete is an individual. @MaguireSal #askSAL 1/2
@scotathletics @MaguireSal @SALMarkMunro @SAL_Coaching @BritAthletics @irishathletics @AthleticsWeekly @Pierceathletics @SALDevelopment #asksal similar to last Q. at all levels in all sports you come across people with seeming “tunnel vision “ going nowhere, almost uncoachable. What thoughts or tools do you use to alter their perception so they can if not reach elite level, learn to just love the sport again?
I actually wouldn’t change anything. Truth is, I was never going to go to the Olympics because I wasn’t good enough. But the experiences I had gave me a foundation in my life of enjoyment of fitness, and I had such a good time. - @MaguireSal #askSAL
Looking back from where you are now, what advice would you give teenage athlete Stephen? @scotathletics @MaguireSal #askSAL
...because of his visual impairment he couldn’t see visual cues so my communication had to be good. I think coaching athletes w disabilities will develop your creativity as a coach, yr relationship should enhance the athlete’s ability to express themselves... @MaguireSal #askSAL
I think every coach should have the experience of coaching an athlete with a disability because you learn so much about yourself. I learned from @smyth_jason how important communication is... @MaguireSal #askSAL 1/3
#askSAL @MaguireSal did your coaching style have to change when you coached para athlete Jason Smyth? And do you have any advice for a coach of a disabled athlete?
It’s nobody’s right to kill a young athlete’s dreams but it’s important to align dreams to reality. Break the dream into small steps. The Olympics might be the dream but first you’ve got to train hard, win your region, win your country, progress in small steps @MaguireSal #askSAL
You’ve got to coach what’s in front of you. You need an open mind and have the ability to be creative but also to have a strong philosophy as a coach. - @MaguireSAL #askSAL
Question for @MaguireSal @scotathletics
Stephen – What’s the single most important piece of advice you have for coaches, or the common point for improvement that you see in coaches? #askSAL
The second would be when @smyth_jason qualified for the @WorldAthletics Championships in Daegu in 2011, as a Paralympic athlete - @MaguireSal #askSAL 2/2
I think there’s two: With the 4 @BritAthletics relay teams at @WorldAthletics London 2017 all winning medals and the men winning a gold medal, I was extremely proud – and relieved! 1/2 @MaguireSal #askSAL
#askSAL @MaguireSal 'What has been your proudest achievement in athletics to date?'
Have fun, continue what you’re doing now but seek out support, camaraderie, friendship - have a look at athletics clubs or @jogscotland groups - @MaguireSal #askSAL
