Multiple reports on TME structure at #BCB22, esp. by #spatialTranscriptomics. But what is cause and what is consequence (inc. tumour genetics)? Can we identify non-cell autonomous interactions without time series? All agreed tremendous opportunities & need for new tools. #BCB22_Q

Multiple reports at #BCB22 of limited mapping between genotypes & phenotypes in cancer. Is #plasticity an intrinsic property of human cells, or do somatic genetic changes cause plasticity? Are clonal dynamics therefore less important for defining disease biology? #BCB22_Q

Most people at #BCB22 used high-throughput DNA or RNA seq at the centre of their research. But lots of other features define cancer: foremost PROTEINS! Also pH, mechanobiology, oxygen & glucose availability, host factors etc etc. Are we stuck looking under the lamppost? #BCB22_Qs
