Fake Copyright Strikes and Copyright Extortion have become a major concern on Facebook and Instagram. False copyright claims can lead to content removal, monetization loss, account suspension, account disablement, and in some cases permanent account deletion. Years of hard work, digital identity, and millions of followers can be lost within days. There have also been reports of scammers using virtual emails, VPNs, foreign numbers, and fake identities to file claims and then demand money in the name of "settlement." We are also aware of a 12M+ follower creator account where a copyright case remains unresolved even after 15–16 days. This is not just one creator's issue—it reflects a broader concern affecting the creator community. Questions for Meta and the Government of India: • Why is full identity verification not mandatory before submitting copyright claims? • Why are Human Review decisions not provided within 24–48 hours? • Why are wrongly removed contents not restored immediately? • Why is there no dedicated grievance system for Indian creators? • Why do creators who pay for Meta Verified and support services still struggle to receive fast assistance in account deletion and copyright-related cases? Last night, @Instagram simultaneously suspended both of my companies’ accounts. When I submitted an appeal, it was automatically rejected because the names of my companies obviously don’t match the information on my personal ID. Apparently, understanding the difference between an individual and a business is now too much to ask from their systems. The sad part is that this doesn’t even seem like an isolated incident. For weeks, Instagram has been dealing with serious issues: arbitrary account suspensions, security failures, vulnerabilities, and an appeals process that appears completely broken. It’s frustrating to watch companies with virtually unlimited resources replace competent support teams with rushed automation and AI-driven processes designed primarily to cut costs, without first making sure they’re fair to the people who rely on them. For some people, this may sound like it’s just an Instagram account. For me, it isn’t. Behind those accounts are years of work, advertising campaigns, customers, users, and an entire business infrastructure built around Meta’s ecosystem. And the worst part is realizing that none of it matters. It doesn’t matter how much you spend on advertising every month. It doesn’t matter if you pay for Meta Verified. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a customer. When something goes wrong, you’re still just another number. Honestly, I have very little hope of getting these accounts back. But if this experience has taught me anything, it’s that I will never again build such a critical part of my business on a platform that can erase years of work with a single click and without a single human explanation.

It’s now been 14 days since Meta shut down my business and personal Facebook and Instagram account without cause. It’s clearly an AI error but there is no one to speak to. Myself and thousands of others are frozen out without any assistance. How can this happen? This is so dysfunctional Meta!

Just Meta (Instagram, Facebook, and so on) still hasn’t fixed their AI. It’s still mass-banning any account that gets mass-reported and randomly denying appeals. There’s no fix for this, and Meta is just ignoring the issue. You only get unbanned if you upload a picture of yourself and have your real name and date of birth visible on the account — even though none of that is required when signing up. Meta is in total shambles right now. First there was the exploit to take over any account, then the ban exploit, then the exploit to see everyone’s private phone number and email. What’s next? An exploit to read private messages with just the username? 😂
