It's happening - firms are choosing not to service UK customers. So much for the UK as a 'crypto hub'.
In our recent response to the proposed classification of #Bitcoin as a restricted mass market investment by @TheFCA , we at @bitcoinpolicyuk predicted that firms would simply not be able to comply with the new rules and would just choose not to service UK customers. These customers will still be able to buy Bitcoin (and potentially other cryptoassets) but they'll be doing so from offshore and unregulated firms. This is not at all how good regulation should work.
