#bsshscaphoid @oxford_hand @halseyhands1 @pjjenkins80 should we change how we describe the condition? Move from “suspected scaphoid” & the obsession with disproving there is a fracture & move to traumatic radial wrist pain, make the correct diagnosis & treat the patient well

We concentrate so much on picking up the injury that we miss sight of the fact that these are virtual ALL stable and will heal. Patients will tell you if they have a problem, as long as they have access. Fife virtual hand clinic ?scaphoid injury. #bsshscaphoid

#bsshscaphoid MR for every patient with radial sides wrist pain will never abolish scaphoid nonunion. Education for skaters and goalkeepers etc… is really important to prevent this awful situation in a young sportsman

#bsshscaphoid I think it’s important to define clearly for everyone who treats wrist injuries what constitutes a suspected scaphoid fracture clinically. There’s much confusion about where to palpate and not much appreciation given to the history.

#bsshscaphoid education to ENPs GPS and all clinicians involved at the very start of the pathway is paramount to raise the suspicion of a fracture in the first place
