@geake@danbarker Disagree Josh. I didn’t see the others deliberately going slow in the qualifiers. They were just outclassed. The problem here was that the wind dropped and the semis and final were in another day. Completely different race day.
@homomediocritus I’m talking about nonunion due to failure to diagnose a fracture, not failure of treatment. My point is that we shouldn’t rely on MR to do all the work. We still miss fractures in units that use MR liberally in ED because the clinician didn’t think of the diagnosis.
#bsshscaphoid MR for every patient with radial sides wrist pain will never abolish scaphoid nonunion. Education for skaters and goalkeepers etc… is really important to prevent this awful situation in a young sportsman
#bsshscaphoid I think it’s important to define clearly for everyone who treats wrist injuries what constitutes a suspected scaphoid fracture clinically. There’s much confusion about where to palpate and not much appreciation given to the history.
@hand_specialist I think they do. Nothing much to lose but can make the diagnosis. See several in my medicolegal practice that have been missed on 2 views alone.
#bsshscaphoid education to ENPs GPS and all clinicians involved at the very start of the pathway is paramount to raise the suspicion of a fracture in the first place
I love snow but people of Gloucestershire, please enjoy your snow day carefully.....the last thing we need @gloshospitals is an influx of broken bones in A&E, thank you 💙 @wtmmason
