#RCN23 @patcullen9 addresses KPMG & #CarrReport the college was found to be “unappreciative of our diversity” but “we will lead on a anti-racist agenda” - nurses from overseas are “very welcome” “our size is our power” standing ovation
Spoken to safecall this morning. The person was very respectful and noted my experiences. I urge anyone affected to please call. I'm part of the change!
#EGM #carrreport @theRCN
@joan_myers @theRCN @LolaOni3 @RuthOshikanlu @cisanim This the correct result. We need @theRCN to rebuild with the integrity we deserve and is demanded for our nursing profession. Thank you amazing colleagues for leading this. #CarrReport @WeSchoolNurses
This was tough to sit through, to see parts of the culture played out in front of us despite the #CarrReport.
I am in awe of the courage of @RuthOshikanlu @joan_myers @cisanim and will continue to stand alongside them to ensure that our professional body moves forward🤍
Our Extraordinary General Meeting was held at RCN headquarters in London today.

WOW! Result of Resolutions - @theRCN Council has to step down so there can we a fresh start, new beginning as result of #CarrReport. Well done @LolaOni3 @RuthOshikanlu @cisanim
Carol Popplestone Chair of Council states culture & governance are closely link as seen in #CarrReport & KMPG. An EDI strategy will be released soon. External Advisors will be called upon to rise standards @SheilaSobrany @RuthOshikanlu @cisanim @LolaOni3 @theRCN @RCNLondon
Bruce Carr KC states an individual experience does not define a prevailing culture, however, themes were developed from multiple responses from different individuals he listened to. @theRCN #CarrReport @SheilaSobrany @RuthOshikanlu @cisanim @RCNLondon
4/4. And finally, the best of luck to all those trying to effect positive change within the #RCN, whether we agree or not.

From the #CarrReport - take a look at how our council have behaved. Men taking pleasure in humiliating women, bullying, people pushed to tears... And staging a coup against the chair.
@theRCN members please check your emails and vote #NoConfidence in this council.
I read #CarrReport and thought: What? 😱
Who's safeguarding my colleagues?
The same duty of care I have towards my clients is what I should have for colleagues, lest I be complicit!
Please use your vote and ensure you have your say in how @theRCN is led

The same way I read a safeguarding report and respond swiftly to safeguard vulnerable people, is the same way I read the #CarrReport and responded to ensure colleagues are safeguarded!
Because #professionals who are abused in any way, need protecting too!

The #CarrReport
3 previous members of #RCNCouncil giving members insight into the culture of @theRCN Council, one of toxicity!
Please members, attend the EGM on 29.11.2022.
It's your college! You pay your fees. Here's an opportunity to have a say on how the College is governed!
@joan_myers @adam1sobrany @alisonleary1 @CNOBME_SAG @theRCN You have every reason to! Their behaviour forced you to resign.

#Bullying #Misogyny #Racism #FinancialMismanagement #ToxicCulture #SexualHarassment have no place in #nursing
Our profession must remain trusted!
@LeanneHPatrick @alisonleary1 @Linda_ex_CPH @The_Pars @Shaun_LDNurse @theRCN Reading all this thread..after the truly appalling findings #carrreport there can be no doubt, that all on the Council are in an untenable position. The incompetence articulated in the report could not be more damning.
1/3. As I touched upon today, @theRCN has to be an example of good governance; that means adhering to standard of corporate ethics.
#RCN Council has acknowledge the findings and accepted the recommendations of the #CarrReport - but needs to go further and accept responsibility.
@Shaun_LDNurse speaking today @RCNWestMids Board & Branch Away Day about his decision to resign from council @theRCN #Changing #Culture @RmnMark @RmnMark
1/4 The #CarrReport reveals serious problems for our paying members read it here it is damning https://t.co/16pAJ6JlB6 misogyny, racism, discrimination, grooming, bullying, harassment cronyism, nepotism, corruption at heart of the RCN. Pay attention to evidence & recommendations
@ZebaArif @Garethman @cisanim @LolaOni3 My biggest concern is how you have not been moved to action by the contents of the #CarrReport
If colleagues can be treated in such appalling manner, what will these individuals do to those they care for?
It's a privilege to be a nurse! That's why we MUST honour that privilege!
@billygnichols @Shaun_LDNurse @alisonleary1 @Garethman @DigitalGerry @theRCN Do you accept the #CarrReport Billy? It doesn't mention misandry. If women are angry, it's because they've been subject to bullying, misogyny, racism, harassment and grooming. All of those things that do feature in the report.
He also spoke of loud, abrasive male voices...
Our student member of council has resigned. Shocked but not surprised by the #CarrReport & very clearly let down by some of the more senior members on council. Very telling.
@theRCN members - remember to check your emails and vote no confidence in council.
My statement on resigning from @theRCN Council. 👇
I’m not implicated; or faced any sort of investigation or sanction; or associated with any other recent resignation or suspensions.
It’s the right thing to do though.
Please read.
When I read the #CarrReport the word RACISM was missing🤔
If one is to deal with a problem, call it was it is!
Name it!
Opting for softer words like bias, discrimination or disparity doesn't address the situation.
Let's get Courageous!
That's leadership!

@billygnichols @alisonleary1 @The_Pars @TRShalley @RuthOshikanlu @FeliciaJCox @patcullen9 @CharlotteNHSRN @SueWoodward_KCL @debraholloway20 @JaneEBall And yet, not a whisper of it in the #CarrReport
Instead he refers to: "a misogynistic environment in which loud and abrasive male voices dominate the environment to the detriment of women."
And that: "It’s current composition and way of doing business is not fit for purpose."
