still, it's the UK company that owes the money and is liable under UK legislation so I shall give them a couple of weeks and then start #chasingpayment again ;)

back to #chasingpayment I call the manager who 'saw my contact pop up on LinkedIn but it went away before I could do anything' (it was a connection invite so woe betide anyone reaching out to them with a business proposal that way: pro tip - there's a whole page for invites)

if the debt is over £5k, and it remains unpaid you can start bankruptcy proceedings, but the debt only needs to be £750 to have a company wound up. that's all quite extreme, but knowing that unpaid bills have consequences is good to know when you start #chasingpayment

I often come across freelancers who find it hard to chase late payments and don't know about the legal protections to help you get paid. As I've had a one-off client not pay their bill (invoice sent in early April on 30-day terms), I can use this as a case study #chasingpayment

There’s loads of different websites for checking reviews on tradesmen before they work for you but why aren’t there any websites where I can check reviews of customers before I work for them?? #chasingpayment
