DWP PIP Timms Review co-chairs update on “progress” — spoiler there is none https://t.co/VEt460WQ9T Anyone surprised by this? #DWP/MPs incompetence radiates through more with each passing day. It's only the lives of The #ChronicallySick & #Disabled.
What is going to happen in 2026? Worried about what the Government has in store for the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled, Carers, Pensioners & anyone who needs Benefits for survival? We need to keep a close eye on their every move as #DWP always cloak & dagger https://t.co/Sjadf7436y
Well instead of being discharged from my MCAS Clinic I was allowed a follow up
In a years time! 😯🤬 - it’s not the Specialist fault I might add
The #NHS system is failing us #chronicallysick #disabled patients
I could be dead by then, as my health continues to deteriorate
My new book, All That Is Made, about #JulianOfNorwich and my connections as a #ChronicallySick person with her vision of creation as something "as small as a hazelnut" is out in 6 weeks!! My heart for Christ 🙏🌰 Preorders USA: https://t.co/ApHp2H55QR
If only @Keir_Starmer @RachelReevesMP & @leicesterliz at @UKLabour HQ cared enough to even read such an emotive piece of writing.
Unfortunately we already know they are very aware of the effects the cuts will have on #ChronicallySick & #Disabled pple. We mean so little to them
A message to @Keir_Starmer

These proposed cuts disguised as reforms will be hitting some of the most vulnerable and struggling demographics in our country, the disabled, chronically ill, elderly etc. These people are already struggling to just live as they suffer daily with symptoms of their conditions, side effects of strong medication and feelings of unworthiness or feelings of being a burden. I know this because I am one of these people, I am a member of the disabled community and I see the fear, apprehension and despair just the thought of these cuts going through is causing.
Here is what may well happen to many of the people in the disabled community and I'm sure many advocates such as @scope @DisRightsUK have or will echo similar sentiments.
1. At first when these cuts come in these people will try to adapt and persevere because they are resilient given the difficulties of what they go through everyday already. They will look to cut what they believe they can survive without this will be things like supplements, physio sessions, medication not supplied by the NHS, leaving the house etc.
2. Eventually these cuts will not be enough and the sacrifices they have made above will greatly weaken their resolve because the above has been a big factor of their ability to function and keep pushing through life. The people in these demographics don't have the option to generate additional income because they cannot work or struggle already with the hours they do.
3. Family and friends for those in these demographics that have them will try and help, however eventually the feeling of being a burden or a hindrance on others will start to negatively effect their mental health. Bare in mind it's is evidenced people in these demographics already struggle with mental health because of the impacts of being chronically ill and/or disabled.
4. Over time they will progressively get worse because they are sacrificing elements of self care and elements of treatments/medication/care to keep a roof above their heads, utilities running and food in their homes. Their conditions will worsen which will lead to needing more support but a lot of these people will not want to burden others or maybe don't even have people to help so they will try just decline further and faster both physically and mentally.
5. This is the final stage, this is were people in these demographics start to give up, they feel unworthy, a burden, a hindrance and can no longer adapt/fight to survive. They are battling worsening conditions within themselves and no doubt in their home environment, limited to no financial support and no way to improve their situation, worsening symptoms lead to worsening mental health and they start to question more than ever before what is the point in carrying on, what is the point in living and when they see no hope they make the only sacrifice they have left to make, they sacrifice themselves they take their own lives.
This is the reality of what these cuts will do to many people in the disabled community in this country.
Exactly ....each and every one of us deserves to be treated like human beings. Just because we are #ChronicallySick, #Disabled or #Unemployed it doesn't give Politicians permission to treat us like Criminals. #WelfareCutsKill
Dear Politicians and OBR, would you please stop using dehumanising language when you refer to disabled people. We are NOT your "stock". We are citizens. We are people. @Keir_Starmer @leicesterliz @RachelReevesMP @OBR_UK
MPs appear to have such troubles with their memories when it comes to support of or challenging the Opposition when it comes to #WelfareCuts for #ChronicallySick & #Disabled. It's another story when it's your team making the cuts eh Liz? #cutskill #WorkOrDie.
Back when @leicesterliz shared @jon_trickett tweet asking ppl to sign @UKLabour petition against PIP / disability benefits CUTS as rich got tax cuts.
One thing we can't abide is people falsely voted into Seat and turning on their sick / disabled constituents with DEADLY CUTS!

When did we vote for #CharlieMayfield to be part of our Political Government? If the responsibility of the Job at the #DWP is too much for you #Liz, I suggest stepping aside & giving the position to someone who has half an idea what it's like to be #ChronicallySick or #Disabled.
With 2m more people in work reporting ill health and disability than there were in 2019, I'm grateful to Sir Charlie for his Keep Britain Review report showing how employers and government can work together to keep people in work and help get back to work https://t.co/yzKPCK9wu1
An assessment the #DWP won't be able to 'sit on' like so many others in the past. I think those at the #DWP can already see the damage the leaks have caused The #ChronicallySick & #disabled. I don't hold much hope for the changes to the ideas theyve put forward.
We’re told an ‘impact assessment’ on #DisabilityBenefits cuts is coming with the #SpringBudget tomorrow.
As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I can tell you: the impact is already here.
Suicidal ideation. Self-harm. Fear. Despair. A nationwide surge in anguish.
And DUMP all over the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled because they are TOO #unwell or #Disabled to work. Penalising people for NOT being ABLE to work is straight out of the Tory RW ThinkTanks who influence your choices. Your Party will never recover from this #welfarereforms
The Tories created a system that callously wrote off millions.
Labour, the Party of work, will put it right.

So today is #DDay for Starmers new plans for the #ChronicallySick & Disabled. To say I'm worried is an understatement. #CutsWillKill #BenefitWho #PIP #LCWRA
What is happening to The #ChronicallySick & #Disabled is a fudging disgrace. Being pushed to our wits end with threats of more tests, more #cuts & more #sanctions if we don't/can't oblige....what the heck is going on? Like life isn't hard enough we now get this ....again! FFS!
How much worse does Keir Starmer & Rachel Reeves want life to be for the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled? Those of us who have been assessed as 'not fit to work' means simply that...we are not fit or well enough to be able to work. Making us starve won't change that
Hey, @keir_starmer, have you seen the news?
❗ 77% of people claiming Universal Credit and disability benefits have gone without essentials in the last 6 months.
Cutting disability support will have further devastating impacts on people and risk pushing even more to food banks.
After years of Campaigning for the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled community, I have never heard such #scared & #frightened voices. No one is saying the #BenefitsSystem doesn't need reform, we knew it was wrong when the #Tories made changes, but this isn't the way to do it either.
Dear Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves & Liz Kendall ....a message to you.
If only they would bother to listen but they won't ....apparently we are immoral #ChronicallySick & #Disabled
Labour on Disability: “Get out to work .. you’re costing us money. We have got to pay the hotel bills”
This is what @UKLabour is doing to the most #vulnerable people in the UK. To vilify & punish people for being #Chronicallysick or #Disabled is no doubt the nastiest assault on people who have no other options available. #Starmer says people don't like Disabled people..really?
Reliable source at the highest possible level has just told me huge increase in calls to suicide helplines because of the threatened benefits cuts, specially to PIP.
Their 'Moral mission' will cause the deaths of many #ChronicallySick & #Disabled people. Punishing the most vulnerable people in UK because they are 'too ill/disabled to work' is probably the cruelest most outrageous policy push I have witnessed. A 'moral mission'....WTAF!?
Definitely one of the reasons #UKStarmerParty are pushing this disgusting rhetoric on the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled. The main push behind this is finishing off what the CSJ got wrong with the last welfare reform cuts. It turns out people are as sick/disabled as they say.
Politicians & #ThinkTanks whisper poison to our Newspapers. Canary research shows corporate media attacks on #Disabled people increased by 1130% in 2024 https://t.co/PkoCHLJZWr 1130%? Don't tell me there's not a campaign to vilify the #ChronicallySick & #Disabled…disgusting
