NDP must boycott CIJA NDP leadership candidate Yves Engler is calling on all candidates to endorse the conclusion of a new report co-authored by fellow candidate Avi Lewis: The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs is a racist, genocidal, organization the NDP must boycott. Today the Jewish Faculty Network released a damning report on CIJA, which is the official advocacy agent of Canada’s Jewish Federations. “THE CIJA REPORT: A Pattern of Anti-Palestinian Racism and Genocide Denial at the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs”, correctly “finds that CIJA engages in racism, the dehumanization of Palestinians, the promotion of unconditional support for the state of Israel and its military.” It concludes, “Law and policy makers, and law enforcement officers, should decline to engage CIJA on issues related to antisemitism, Israel and Palestine, and issues relating to Jewish people in Canada.” Engler applauds the report and calls on all leadership candidates to accede to its call to boycott CIJA. In the past CIJA has organized lobby events at NDP conventions and party officials have travelled to Israel with the organization. NDP representatives have also met with the racist group and spoken at their events. “The NDP should formally boycott the racist Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs”, noted Engler. “All NDP leadership candidates should pronounce themselves in support of boycotting CIJA.” For more information: [email protected]
