Asthma and heat, a dance of death, yet I move, I move, I move, to the factory’s beat, a rhythm etched in sweat and sacrifice. Five blocks of sun’s disdain, eight hours on feet that know no rest, a journey of survival, a daily war. They don’t see me, those with cool breezes on demand, those who sip lemonade under shaded ease, ignoring the world that burns around me. Privilege is a blinder, a shelter, a shield against the rawness of my life. But I see them, I see it all, the power in my hands, a vote, a voice, a ripple in the storm. I carry more than the weight of heat, I carry hope, the antidote, the promise of change with each step. They will hear me, they will feel the strength of my march, my breath, my sweat a testament, my vote a roar. I am Mary, unseen but unbroken, a mother bearing the weight of worlds, ready to claim the future, to demand the cool breeze for all. This life, this fire, it fuels me, the promise of relief, of justice, of air that does not burn. I breathe, I move, I fight, for the child within, for the world outside this furnace, this fight.
