Privileged to be part of this wonderful group @FiLiAHagueMums and very thankful to inform this excellent work 'The court process itself becomes a tool for abuse and a cause of serious trauma, a phenomenon identified as #CPIT: Court and Perpetrator Induced Trauma'
@MelanieBridgen We describe this phenomenon with #CourtandPerpetratorInducedTrauma #CPIT the system and abuser induce the trauma and then that trauma is used against the protective mother and child as indicators of 'alienation'/or mental illness and traps them further https://t.co/JJSdNUYgqp
'I was unable to escape the #DomesticViolence in my marriage until recently...children were poisoned with lies'. Numerous reports & statistics show increases globally in abuse-induced suicide for women #CPIT #familycourt #courtandperpetratorinducedtrauma https://t.co/nn2P8HHOzW
Absolutely this it's the trauma but also the physical impacts on health too.
It's ongoing due to #FamilyCourt and as @SheraFamily rightly point out its #CPIT and have gone through the many physical affects on victims
Do these judges and family court professionals care about the impact of the many years of emotional and verbal abuse after separation? Like the years long of continued stress without hope of ever ending, because they are Ordered to endure? It causes autoimmune illnesses in mothers and children. Don't they get it?
I believe this is absolutely imperative inherwords.
Mothers who face bias, discrimination, and court and perpetrator induced trauma #CPIT I'm also glad that @Right2Equality and @DrProudman are investigating judicial bias because it is rife
Let’s put a stop to the #FamilyCourtScandal, #ABUSED women & children deserve better than being subjected to this #statesanctionedabuse #CPIT #postseparationabuse The #familycourt & it’s #parentalalienationindustry need calling out for what the really are, #legalchildtrafficking
Thank you #Shera for all of your work raising awareness about abuse in the family courts
Thank you for sharing your knowledge & research at our last #SistersSalon meeting #FamilyCourts

@nate_postlethwt In exception, children that become separated from their safe parent in family court abuse. Both mother and child/ren have relationship decimated by coercive abuse & #CPIT Court & perpetrator Induced Trauma. Mums are prevented from keeping child safe & child left to cope alone.
There is increasing evidence across jurisdictions that raising allegations of child sexual abuse in private law children proceedings exposes mothers to the risk of child removal. Yet in public law, mothers risk child removal if they DON'T prevent contact between children and fathers who are proven or suspected child sex abusers.
It's time to unpick these oppositional expectations on mothers, and turn to the literature on the ideology of the public/private divide that lies at the heart of the liberal state. The private sphere is constructed around images of safe, respectable, middle-class masculinities, to which lone motherhood has been perceived as a threat since the 1970s (see the work of, eg, Richard Collier, Carol Smart, the enlightening chapters in Carling, Duncan and Edwards). The public sphere is constructed by and through 'othered' images of feral, working class, irresponsible families who, by failing to aspire to dominant familial norms, have forfeited the veil of privacy, with both spheres underpinned by images of self-sacrificial motherhood.
These images have a powerful normative effect in family court proceedings. In private law, they justify the demonisation of mothers and increasingly coercive measures to reinstate the nuclear family across households. As Diduck and Kaganas observed: "The ‘good’ post-separation family needs a ‘good’ post-separation mother to sustain it…When mothers refuse to take on this additional task, they become identified as bad or vindictive mothers.” In public law, 19th century discourses of child-saving render mothers liable to punitive measures for 'failing to protect' their children from the "threat of the undomesticated male" (Collier).
We need a system that responds to the 'real' families who come to law, who are far more complex and 'human' than the powerful images that structure legal and political responses. We need to acknowledge the real violence that is perpetrated on women and children by enforcing ideological norms through child removal, and to deconstruct the ideological barrier that renders child sexual abuse a scandal in the public sphere but invisible in the private sphere.

The truth is I and many others have #CPIT
It isn't just the court it's the professionals within it.
It isn't just the children who are suffering but parents who are suffering the decisions and parents suffering who are watching their children suffer.
It's a constant knock on effect.
When people say about taking it back to court.
I don't honestly think I'd survive.
I don't honestly have trust and faith in this system and neither does anyone I know.
My children have been harmed and continue to be and the truth is if anything I think court would make it even worse for them.
My youngest son not even being considered.
My eldest is autistic in all honesty it was the biggest thing they used.
Bar me and my ex where relations certainly haven't improved, the communication hasn't and it never will as I'm sure they knew when they made the order.
@BenayounMyriam @SheraFamily @DrEmmaKatz Suad, this wonderful mom, whose children had been removed 3 years ago, died today literally of broken heart #CPIT

Also, although it’s now further back in the stream of X posts, another article referencing Brazil — from a UK-publisher with a UK/EU focus but HEY, if it mentions another acronym for some jargon #CPIT we want to promote let’s feature it, right? — where several of the authors (not even from the USA) have blocked me on X….
Hey, if CPIT stands for “Court AND Perpetrator-Induced Trauma” (which differs from the late KarinHuffer’s “LegalAbuseSyndrome” how…) but is described as “FAMILY court and perpetrators-induced trauma (Image 1), why not call it “FCPIT” and place it next to PAS’s replacement (?) #CAMS (Child and Mother Sabotage).
Also, what does @SHeraFamily expect to accomplish by blocking me? You think ALL your followers will never — or not in time — run across my information, ever? Have I ever, once, done or said anything remotely resembling threatening any person listed at SHERA?
🇺🇸I think that attempts to block INFORMATION (which I offer, and which hasn’t been countered, as it rightly should have been — I am also after all, a survivor, from California, I have perspective, and I have had personally dealings (there, and since on-line) with organizations you feature, promote and advertise.
I am a character witness of organization habits — so what is of such value that letting ONE person’s (dissenting, obviously) views be heard in your international intentions?). Others who block me, I’m used to it, but, heck —one HOMELESS (currently) senior citizen with no political connections, from an ocean away — is somehow a threat to your enterprises and purposes?
Or is this whole thing an adult girl-gang which takes hearsay badmouthing from your friends in the USA, and has no problem treating non-compliant victims like trash? (FYI, I’ve also witnessed this state-side of other battered women who don’t follow the “protocol” — solidarity or shunning, or worse, (it seems likely) compromising their case info for where there there are still minor children.

Brilliant work here by @SheraFamily to expose the truth about Court & Perpetrator Induced Trauma #CPIT.
CPIT & PA allegations impact victims globally, affecting their mental & physical health significantly, & preventing them from being able to heal from the trauma of abuse.
"The practices of family court professionals and their influence on victims, external agencies & criminal investigations require immediate intervention."
"The torture & dehumanisation of mothers & children in family courts in Brazil & globally must not be allowed to continue. We echo the urgent call for states to prohibit the use of PA in court rooms globally & call for immediate intervention & reparations for these victims."
Bravo to all the wonderful people who contributed to this vital report. 🙏 🫶 🙌
See link in quoted tweet below, for full report ⬇️
This is incredibly important and reallt does highlight #CPIT I believe that the #FamilyCourt and its professionals should face #Accountability for what they do to victims of #DomesticAbuse.
I can say it had a huge impact on me and many others I've spoken to if not every single one.
This is in my view as prevalent in the UK
Thank you @SheraFamily who work tirelessly to raise awareness
