#dailyprogrammingtip! 🕹️🎮 Are you uploading your playable demos to itch regularly? I do! And I barely spend any time doing so One of the best tools a game developer can have are automation scripts. I personally enjoy writing them in #Python, which has variety of libraries and integrations (and is pretty easy to learn). You can even find existing scripts that will help you automate mundane tasks that should be done regularly: Run tests, build a new version, upload it to itch/steam... mixing #dailyprogrammingtip with some #gamedevelopment progress! Have you ever heard about extrapolation? I wanted to predict the player movement to know if they are going to hit the water based on their speed (actually acceleration) to trigger the jump in the right moment! #dailyprogrammingtip for #gamedev today just a short and simple tip🙏🏽 Any game logic is just - States (HP, mana, player position etc.) - Rules that change them our job as programmers is picking the right statements to describe them

As promised! Starting a gamedev #dailyprogrammingtip! *Very* beginner friendly, concise and simple. First term: Game Engine! 🚗🎮 Comment which one is your favorite and I'll add more details about it in the comments! A set of tools (pre written code, libraries or executables) that provides solutions for the most common *development tasks*. Input handling, physics calculations, rendering (WAT? future posts)... Biggest examples: Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot etc. These engines also include development tools as well. Like asset management, level editing, and even code editor and compilers (WAT? future posts). There are many engines out there that just help with specific tasks like: Havok for physics, OGRE3d for rendering and many more.
