#DatingWhileDisabled I know disabled women and girls in relationships or married to men deeply unworthy of them. They're being taken advantage of financially, but folks in their inner circle say they should be grateful for anyone willing to be with a disabled person.

It's not that disabled people aren't married or in romantic relationships. It's harder for us to find love in a world that says we are unattractive and burdensome. We are forced to deal w/ the ableism of non-disabled people and our own internalized ableism. #DatingWhileDisabled

The song “Lovefool” by the Cardigans is a fave of mine. It goes, “Love me, pretend that you love me. Fool me. Go on and fool me.” It describes wanting to be loved badly & accepting it in it fakest form just to have someone there. Out of fear of being alone. #datingwhiledisabled

I decided I’m going to email producers at the .@BacheloretteABC asking for a disabled woman to be the Bachelorette. #datingwhiledisabled wouldn’t suck so much for us if we normalized being physically attracted to disabled women. It’s a no brainer and would be ratings gold. 💰
