Today's #designgoodness is another Gestalt principle: Closure. No, not what you're seeking from your da, but a tendency to perceive a bunch of individual elements as a single, recognisable pattern.

Today's #designgoodness is about Signal to Noise ratio. This one's a simple one. Design's function is to communicate information. Any extraneous information or elements are seen as 'noise'.

Today's #designgoodness is a fun one. The Law of Prägnanz is one of the Gestalt principles and refers to the tendency to interpret ambiguous shapes/elements as simple and complete.

Today's #designgoodness is the Aesthetic-Usability Effect. This is where aesthetically pleasing designs are percieved as easier to use. It's been proved (apparently) in a whole bunch of studies, and was first seen in Kurosu and Kashimura's study in 1995.

Today's piece of #designgoodness is the Exposure Effect. This is where repeated exposure to stimuli will increase how liked and accepted it is. Think of propaganda, where a leader's face is plastered absolutely everywhere.
