🚨Update | Nyala, South Darfur
#DNHR Update reports from Nyala, South Darfur, indicate that on 8 March 2026, a local Genena market in the city was struck by drone airstrikes reportedly carried out by the #SAF. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 11 civilians and injuries to around 20 others.
Medical teams from the Ministry of Health responded to the incident and transferred the civilians wounded to Nyala Teaching Hospital, where emergency treatment was provided using medical equipment supplied by Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
This incident comes amid a concerning escalation in the use of drones by parties to the conflict across Sudan, leading to growing civilian casualties.
The targeting of civilians is unacceptable. All parties to the conflict must take immediate measures to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers, in line with their obligations under international humanitarian law.

Since April 2023, #Sudan has been engulfed in conflict. As of March 2025, #DNHR has verified:
