Koboko Municipality NGO Monitoring Committee participating in a group work exercise on the implementation strategy of the #NGORegulatoryFramework. This is part of our commitment to build the capacity of all #DNMCs
& #SNMCs in the country.
@NGObureau in collaboration with @VNGi is carrying out capacity-building trainings for the members of the #DNMCs and #SNMCs and other stakeholders in the districts of Yumbe, Koboko, Koboko Municipality, Terego, and Aura City .
Mr. Benson Ekwee of Public Affairs Centre reminds participants that the NGO Act 2016 transfered roles from RDC to CAO in terms of signing on CBO certificates and recommending NGOs to the NGO Bureau #DNMCs
Action Point - Dissemination of the NGO Act 2016 and its regulations needs to continue using all fora. #DNMCs
These meetings will concurrently run within 3 districts, the other 2 being Abim and Soroti, targeting at least 10 NGOs in each district and 7 members of the NGO monitoring committee.

The other action point- The office of the CAO will liaise with Lira NGO Forum to identify an NGO representative on the Lira #DNMCs . There was also a call for revamping of the NGO coordination meetings to strengthen information sharing
At the close of the meeting, we do a group photo with CAO, DCDO, DISO, DEO and Secretary Gender & Community Services. Going forward we agree on many issues but most importantly submitting reports on a quarterly basis, a report template to be shared #DNMCs
The overall objective of this meeting is for NGOs to interact with the District NGO Monitoring committee, formulate a harmonized engagement strategy for the success of NGO operations in Lira district #DNMCs
