"The Sheik", is also the title of a 1921 film & I think it's so clever that it was referenced to the chapter describing Vladek's younger, "handsome" years. I also loved The Sheik poster subtly in the background of page 13 #ECL220

#ECL220 “This is Just to Say” got me thinking of plums so much I bought some. I put them in my fridge so they were cold like the poem. They were good…but I realized they were so good to the person in the poem because they were someone else’s. People always want what others have.
"Sex without Love" made me think about how liberating it can be to enjoy someone without attachments. Although the poem wasn't about the liberation of enjoying someone with no strings attached. Sometimes we just have to keep it light and enjoy the connections we do hav #ECL220
@Graham354135111 Well, it was published in 1960, so we can cut him a little slack (RIP Gregory Corso: he left us in 2001). Still, I think it's more relevant these days than you give it credit for. There are lots of folks out there with really old-fashioned outdated ideas about marriage. #ECL220
