The biggest takeaway that I have from watching a lesson on the homeless is that the two main causes for youth becoming homeless are family issues and systematic issues. #gccedu #EDUC203

One thing that I learned from the lecture on teaching homeless students is that homeless students often come to school tired and hungry, and as teachers, we need to show compassion towards these students and help them in any way that we can. #gccedu #EDUC203

After the Native American lesson, one thing that I learned is that the suicide rate of Native Americans is 1.7 times higher than the overall U.S. suicide rate, so as teachers we need to learn more about our students to help change this statistic. #gccedu #EDUC203

One thing that I learned about as part of a lesson on educating Asian Americans is the "Model Minority" Myth, or the idea that Asian Americans are destined for success. These students may not be able to admit they are struggling, and we need to motivate them! #gccedu #EDUC203
