Energy Fun Fact Friday (#EFFF): ERCOT: ~400+ GW new load in 5 years. EIA 860: ~42GW/year of new power plants over last 5 years (entire US). So, to meet just the new load in Texas, we'd need all US power plant developers to come to TX and ~2X their development!

@Dcpcooks @TheReal50972902 Yeah for sure. I’ve always thought it a little peculiar that $FF are leaned on so heavily as a future yield predictor given they are so illiquid beyond the first 6M or so. Even still, they are still pricing 500bps #EFFF through the first of next year.

My back-of-the-envelope math: Texas emits ~32.5 MT of CO2 per year just to meet our current H2 demand from natural gas w/ SMR. The climate benefit of switching to electrolysis (assuming electricity is carbon-free) is the equivalent of taking 7.1 million cars off the road.
