With new reports coming out regularly about Democratic candidates IT assets + infrastructure being breached, its is imperative that candidates put a sound IT Security plan and protocol in place.
Perhaps the DCCC/DNC is provisioning, but if not..some thoughts below. #ElecSec
CRITICAL for every Democratic candidate to fully understand:
-your campaign is a target,
-your home network is a target,
-your and your family + friends accounts are targets,
-your businesses are targets,
-your places of employment,
-your devices are targets 1/ #ElecSec
monitor your IT assets, provide training and education, set protocols by which all persons in your orbit abide + constantly be looking for breaches into your IT environments. Then, when there is a problem, lock-down/protection will be much faster and effective. #ElecSec
Password protocols, apps should be reviewed, devices HAVE to stay updated, NEVER use public Wi-Fi, there are numerous measures you can take, but even those may fall short. Which is why you need a tried and true IT Security firm to consult on each piece, 3/ #ElecSec
DO NOT spare the expense or time securing all of your network infrastructure + devices. Your neighbor’s friend’s son is NOT an adequate IT Security provision.
Your families (especially children), friends, employees and volunteers need to be trained on phishing, 2/ #ElecSec
